Local sources in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa informed Voice of Hindukush that two Pakistani soldiers, identified as Ismatullah and Shafiullah, were released by the Pakistani Taliban after expressing remorse for their actions and announcing their resignation from service. Their release was arranged with the guarantee of local tribal elders.

According to the sources, the individuals had been captured during a series of special operations in the Malakhel area of Tank district.

The sources further stated that two other individuals—Noor Zaman, also known as “Sailab,” and Munir—both prominent local militia members, were also released. They had been detained during previous operations by the Pakistani Taliban movement and were freed following instructions from the movement’s leadership and guarantees provided by tribal elders.
