Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) says Russian investors have expressed interest in investing in the construction and rehabilitation of thermal, gas-fired, and coal-fired power generation plants across the country.
According to a statement issued by the DABS, its Chief Executive Officer, Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, met with representatives of four Russian companies to discuss modernizing existing power plants, increasing their generation capacity, and installing new turbines.
The Russian side also presented proposals for the technical rehabilitation of power plants and the use of modern coal-based technologies for the combined generation of electricity and heat.
The statement added that both sides agreed that Russian investors, in coordination with the relevant departments of the DABS, will begin its preliminary technical assessments.
