Sources told Voice of Hindukush that a guard commander at the Nangarhar Provincial Police Command in Chaparhar district was shot and killed by his own brother. The suspect has been arrested.
The incident occurred yesterday at around 5:00 p.m. in Hasha Khail village of Chaparhar district.
According to the source, the victim, Musafir, son of Sayed Agha, who served as the guard commander at the Chaparhar District Police Command, was shot dead with a pistol by his brother, Iqbal.
The source added that the suspect has been taken into custody. Preliminary information indicates that he was suffering from a mental illness. Investigations into the motive and other details of the incident are ongoing.
