Al-Khabour, a Syrian media outlet, reported that Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has firmly rejected claims that Syrian forces are preparing to enter a military confrontation against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
He stressed that the reports circulating on this matter are false and have no basis, stressing that Damascus’ current efforts are focused solely on preventing the expansion of the conflict and facilitating the return of nearly 1.4 million Syrian refugees from Lebanon to their country.
He added that Syria’s priorities are centered on containing regional escalation and avoiding any further deterioration of the security situation.
Earlier, several media reports suggested that the United States was pressuring Damascus to intervene against Hezbollah in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
