After the current government was established in Afghanistan during the new era and post-independence, the opposition took the way of escape and sometimes guerrilla warfare. Despite this, many of these groups and organizations split and separated over personal interests, adopting independent names and insignias in an attempt to make a splash, leave a mark, and achieve results. But the further along this path one goes, the darker it becomes, the destination recedes, and despair prevails while disappointment grows stronger.

Even the deceived companions who joined unfamiliar guides on this way have gradually come to the conclusion that they chose the wrong option and have walked a thorny road, and their future is more dark and gloomy than bright and luminous.

The deceived soldiers of the Resistance Front, after much pursuit, evasion, claims, propaganda, and running after this and that, have finally lost their hope, motivation, strength, and ability to continue and complete the journey, and have become passive. All this despair and disillusionment depends on factors, and this excessive and tangible lack of motivation stems from the lies and deceptions that their false masters and leaders have portrayed for them and seduced them with their naive fantasies.

In the following, we will discuss and analyze several factors that contribute to the demotivation of the deceived soldiers of the Resistance Front:

  1. The way of Allah
The first and most important thing for entering the battlefield and gambling with one’s life and soul is to be certain of the outcome that awaits. As long as a person doesn’t know why or for what they are sacrificing their life, or whether giving their life in this way is truly worth it, they will never surrender to the whims of fate. They will unknowingly and without understanding embark on a path that ultimately leads to the loss of their life and the destruction of their afterlife. Perhaps it sometimes happens that some people, knowingly or unknowingly, but in a combative way, find themselves in such currents, but this unity does not last long, and with each passing day, its fervor diminishes and disappears. Undoubtedly, one of the important causes of demotivation among the soldiers and comrades of the Resistance Front is choosing the wrong path and deviating from the right one.
  2. A True Leader
The second thing that is no less important than the first option is the lack of a true and determined leader who possesses leadership qualities such as sacrificing life and wealth for ideals and selflessness in ensuring the safety of companions and followers. A person only becomes obedient to someone when they know that the other person also values the soldier’s sacrifice, appreciates their efforts, and, when necessary, will sacrifice themselves first and then send their people forward. Or, the leader or commander on the battlefield fights so heroically and bravely that their troops are encouraged by the sight of them, and courage runs thru their veins.
However, what is evident from observations is that this group has no real leadership, and even the existing and named leader does not possess the capacity for such self-sacrifice and devotion for his comrades. There is no doubt that another factor contributing to the demotivation of this group and their spiritual defeat is the weak management and lack of charismatic leaders who can guide and lead them properly and strongly.
  3. Sufficient Consumption
The third thing, without exaggeration, is providing for the cost of living and daily expenses. Sometimes a person finds themselves in such difficult circumstances that they are even willing to give their life for a small price, for nothing at all, just to avoid shaming their family. Now, if even this small price is not secured and there is only danger and no gratitude, and life is lost and no gain is made, then it is not wise to perish for nothing. Another external factor is the inability of the leaders and commanders of this front to cover their own internal expenses and consumption, which has reached a dead end, and they can not pay for the necessary needs. This has caused the very same deceived individuals to come to their senses and, while they still have the opportunity to save their lives, make the right decision and return.

The fact that this deceived group has now lost their strength and vitality, and their joy and happiness have been extinguished, indicates a lack or severe weakness in the three areas mentioned above. Because the path where blood is shed and lives are sacrificed is useless and nothing more than a disaster if it is not divine and the heart is not full of trust.

Also, when the field’s vanguard is the rearguard and only announces its support and backing thru conversation and from afar, and only knows how to shout from a safe, warm, and secure place, there is no doubt that the blood in the fighters’ veins will dry up and the strength and power of their arms will crumble. Because just as the soul and body are the highest and most valuable assets of a human being, they must be sacrificed and dedicated to something higher and more important, not for anything, not for anyone, and not in the face of anyone.

Although this deceived group claims to be fighting for Allah and entering the battlefield for the country’s freedom, because their words are not based on honesty and lack any truth, they are defeated very quickly and give up the struggle.

A prime example of such an event can be found in the history of early Islam: when the parties and coalition of Quraysh set out toward Medina to completely destroy Islam, they were filled with pride in their vast numbers and had no doubt about the ultimate destruction and defeat of the Muslims. However, because the body of this coalition was held together by patched-up pieces, and each member had a separate goal in their heart, they became disheartened at the time of battle. They suffered a spiritual defeat against the true unity and solidarity of the Muslims, and destruction arose from within themselves, undermining the foundations of their unity.

However, mere bribery and encouragement are never enough; first, the right path must be chosen, and then a dedicated warrior must stand at the front lines to give and take lives. In addition to physical strength, financial sufficiency is also necessary to achieve a goal and fulfill an ideal. However, these jihadist categories never took on a real form and entered the scene within the deceived soldiers of the Resistance Front. So how can we expect such individuals to remain steadfast and reliable, stay in their trenches forever, and not retreat?
