During a monitoring operation by the Afghani Promotion Commission under the Paktika Directorate of Industry and Commerce, one car dealership and two butcher shops were sealed in Sharana, the provincial capital, for conducting transactions in Pakistani rupees.
In a statement sent to Voice of Hindukush, the directorate stated that the use of foreign currencies in the market has become a major obstacle to the promotion of the Afghan currency.
According to the statement, Paktika’s Director of Industry and Commerce, Mullah Shadi Hussain, said that a ban has been imposed on foreign currency transactions in the province and no one will be allowed to engage in such activities.
He assured that the process of promoting the Afghani and controlling prices in the province will continue consistently.
