Politico reports that U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Republican lawmakers in Congress to quickly approve a $350 billion military funding plan.
Trump said the measure is part of a broader $1.5 trillion defense budget and should be passed without delays or changes.
He said the funds would be used to develop new defense systems, strengthen naval forces, increase weapons stockpiles, and expand U.S. space and drone capabilities. He called it a key step in strengthening the country’s military power in the coming years.
