U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Washington later this year for high-level talks.
Trump made the comments during a press briefing, noting that the meeting will play a key role in bolstering both economic and political relations between the United States and China.
According to Agence France-Presse, Trump stressed that the United States and China are the world’s most powerful countries and maintain a strong and important relationship.
It’s worth noting that, Xi Jinping last visited the United States in 2017, during Trump’s first term in office.
