The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has confirmed that two Afghan citizens, previously detained in Iraq, have been released and returned to Afghanistan.

According to the Border Police of Nimroz province, the individuals had attempted to illegally enter Iraq through Iran four months ago. They were arrested by Iraqi authorities and spent three months in a detention facility in Basra.

After their release, the individuals entered Afghanistan through Iran and, after receiving humanitarian assistance, they were returned to their original homes.
