Mining operations have begun at two new emerald mines in Panjshir Province, located in Anaba and Hesa Awal districts, the provincial governor’s media office announced.
The two mines are located in the villages of Geem in Anaba district and Kuda Zar in Hesa Awal district.
According to the Panjshir Directorate of Mines and Petroleum, 221 individuals obtained official licenses to extract emeralds and garnets during the first six months of the current year and have since launched mining operations.
