Tasnim News Agency reported that a U.S. E-3 aircraft, worth $700 million and commonly known as AWACS, was targeted and destroyed while attempting to evade strikes by Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval and air forces.
Sources noted the high-value aircraft was brought down by Iranian forces using a Shahed 136 drone, reportedly costing around $20,000.
According to available information, the incident not only led to the destruction of the advanced aircraft but also caused significant damage to several other nearby aircraft.
Since the beginning of conflict between Iran and the United States, Washington has relied on multi-million-dollar defensive missile systems to intercept Iranian projectiles that often cost only a few thousand dollars.
