U.S. President Donald Trump has said that European countries should focus on the war in Ukraine rather than on Greenland.
He made these remarks in a recent interview with journalists.
In response to a question about whether he would use military force to take control of Greenland, Trump said, “Nothing can be said about that.”
He had previously threatened to use military force to seize the island.
The United States considers Greenland important for its national security and says that if it does not take control of it, Russia and China will do so. However, the European Union opposes any occupation of the region.
For this reason, Trump has imposed customs tariffs on several major European countries and warned that if opposition continues, the tariffs will be increased further.
