The U.S. State Department reported that Iran executed at least 260 people last month, marking the highest monthly death toll in the country in the past two decades.

The department further noted that, since the beginning of this year, around 1,500 people in Iran have been killed without any due process or formal judicial review.

In contrast, Iranian official reports confirmed only two executions last month and provided no details about the remaining 1,500 executions.
