CNN reported that U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said on Tuesday that the cost of the United States’ ongoing war in Iran has so far reached $37.5 billion.
According to Hegseth, this figure represents an increase of nearly $8 billion compared to the previous public estimate and includes specific aspects of the conflict as well as projected war-related expenses through September 30.
Speaking before the U.S. Senate Budget Allocation Committee during a hearing in Washington, Hegseth stated that without an increase in emergency funding, military training for U.S. forces would be scaled back.
