Reuters has reported that US President Donald Trump said a peace agreement to end the war between Russia and Ukraine is “very close” and could involve all European countries, in addition to Ukraine.
Trump made the remarks following a meeting at the White House with Kirill Dmitriev, an envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He said the outcome of negotiations between the two sides would be a major agreement that would not be limited to Ukraine alone but could also involve all of Europe.
Commenting on the continuation of the war, Trump said that bloodshed was ongoing and that the conflict must come to an end. He expressed hope that the war would end very soon.
