The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that, following human rights investigations, 194 children who went missing during Bashar al-Assad’s rule have so far been reunited with their families.

According to the report, the new Syrian administration has documented 314 cases of children who were forcibly separated from their parents under former regime and sent to care facilities.

A special committee is now reviewing the fate of hundreds of other children believed to have been placed with or sold to different families.

The Syrian authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to uncovering the fate of all missing children, including the six children of Rania al-Abbasi, and to bringing those responsible to account.
