Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, has reappeared in a video message after several months, delivering a detailed statement on the ongoing war and resistance in Gaza against the Zionist regime.
He stated that in recent weeks, their fighters had made multiple attempts to capture Zionist soldiers and had come very close. However, he claimed the Zionist regime, fearing the capture of its troops, killed its own soldiers in large numbers.
Abu Ubaida said the current operations began in the northern and eastern areas of Gaza, specifically Beit Hanoun and Jabalia, then moved through the central neighborhoods of Tuffah, Shujaiya, and Zeitoun, and have now extended as far as Khan Younis and Rafah. He described the ongoing battle as one of the most significant military models of the modern era.
Addressing the people of Gaza and the wider Islamic Ummah, he assured that all resistance fighters are fully prepared for a prolonged confrontation with the Zionist occupiers. “We are ready for any kind of offensive. The fighters have vowed either to eliminate the enemy or to achieve martyrdom,” he said.
He described the ongoing war as a matter of principle, adding: “This war is our legitimate right and a religious and national duty. We have no option but to fight. Our weapons may be limited and weak, but our fighters’ faith and determination are strong.”
Abu Ubaida also outlined their current military strategy, which focuses on inflicting casualties on Zionist forces, launching close-range, specialized attacks, and continuing efforts to capture enemy soldiers.
