The central spokesperson of the Afghan government, Mawlawi Zabiullah Mujahid, commemorating the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of former Soviet Union forces from Afghanistan, calling it a significant and proud chapter in the country’s history. He also extended his congratulations to the Muslims and Mujahideen on this milestone.

In a statement posted on his X account, Mr. Mujahid said the achievement was the result of the jihad, sustained struggle, sacrifices, migration, and hardships endured by Afghans and Muslims in their resistance against the former Soviet Union.

He added that Afghanistan’s liberation from occupation for the third time in just over a century reflects the unwavering resolve and steadfast commitment of the Afghan people to safeguard their religion and preserve their independence.

Mr. Mujahid further stated that the repeated invasions over the past century and the resulting victories of jihad should serve as a warning to future aggressors, discouraging any attempts to challenge Afghanistan’s freedom and sovereignty again.

The spokesperson further stressed that citizens must remain vigilant against all conspiracies and plots, and by upholding their firm resolve and Islamic unity, continue to follow the path set by their forefathers.
