Afghan government spokesperson Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid said in a post on X that the recent floods in Nuristan Province have caused casualties and extensive property damage. He said the government has mobilized the relevant authorities to carry out rescue operations and provide emergency assistance to those affected.
Mawlawi Mujahid offered prayers for those martyred, asking that they be granted the highest place in Paradise, and wished the injured a swift recovery.
He added that all relevant government authorities are working on an emergency basis to rescue affected residents, protect lives and property, and deliver relief assistance. He also assured that those affected by the floods will receive the necessary support.
