Afghan government central spokesperson Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid announced that the country’s leadership has approved a series of new appointments.

Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, former governor of Laghman, has been appointed Minister of Information and Culture. Fomer Minister Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, has been appointed governor of Maidan Wardak province.

Other key changes include Qari Mohammad Bakhtiar Moaz, former governor of Maidan Wardak, being appointed governor of Laghman. Mullah Mohammad Hafiz Mujahid, former deputy commander of the 313 Central Corps, has been appointed governor of Farah.

In addition, Mullah Ghausuddin Rahbar, former governor of Farah, appointed as deputy commander of the 313 Central Corps. Qari Mohammad Nasim Ezzat, former commander of the 2nd Infantry Brigade under the 205 Al-Badr Corps, has been appointed deputy governor of Jawzjan. Haji Sher Ali Jandullah, former chief of Kabul’s 3rd security district, has been appointed as Paktia’s police command chief. Meanwhile, Mullah Abdul Shakoor Baryalai, former commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade under the 209 Al-Fath Corps, has been appointed commander of the 2nd Infantry Brigade of the 205 Al-Badr Corps.

The leadership also appointed Mawlawi Nooruddin, former deputy governor of Jawzjan, as commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade under the 209 Al-Fath Corps. Meanwhile, Mawlawi Mohammad Omar Mukhlis, former police chief of Paktia, has been appointed chief of Kabul’s 3rd security district.
