The Syrian Presidential Office announced that President Ahmad al-Shara met with a U.S. Congressional delegation in Damascus to review the region’s recent developments.
Officials noted the discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on a wide range of international issues of shared concern.
Talks also addressed prospects for stability in Syria and the broader region.
It’s worth noting that the United States recently cleared Ahmad al-Shara’s name from its terrorism list, paving the way for his subsequent visit to the White House as Syria’s first president.
