The US Central Command (CENTCOM) says American forces carried out overnight airstrikes against multiple Iranian military targets.
According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted command centers, air defense systems, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities to further reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial ships and their crews transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Precision-guided munitions were used during the operation, with targets struck at several locations, including Bandar Abbas.
CENTCOM said that in a separate 90-minute operation earlier today, US forces also struck Iranian coastal defense and cruise missile sites on Greater Tunb Island.
Meanwhile, Iran claimed it had retaliated against the latest US strikes by targeting several key American military sites in Kuwait and Jordan as part of “Nasr 2” and “Sa’eqeh” operations.
