The Governor of Nangarhar, Mullah Muhammad Naeem Akhund, has issued strict directives to local officials to eliminate the use of Pakistani rupees in all remaining areas where it is still in circulation and to fully promote the use of the Afghan currency.

According to the statement released by the provincial office, districts such as Shinwari, Spin Ghar, Achin, Lalpura, Momand Dara, Nazian, and Dur Baba have already seen limited use of Pakistani rupees. However, authorities have been instructed to ensure a complete halt to its usage, making all financial transactions exclusively in Afghanis.

It is noteworthy that following the establishment of the interim government, the leadership issued a special decree banning the use of foreign currencies across Afghanistan. Since then, authorities have implemented strict measures against them in several border provinces.
