The Ministry of Justice has announced that the Criminal Courts Procedures Code has been approved by the leadership of the Afghan government and published in the Official Gazette.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the code includes an introduction, three parts, ten chapters, and 119 articles, and will be implemented in the country’s judicial institutions.

The code sets out the principles for applying discretionary punishments, including their levels, types, and the categories of people subject to such penalties, along with the relevant legal provisions.

It also defines penalties for forgery and falsification of documents, corruption in goods, and carrying out activities without the required permits.

In addition, it outlines penalties related to the cultivation, trade, and transportation of narcotics, along with other related legal provisions.

The Ministry of Justice further stated that citizens can obtain the printed version of this edition of the Official Gazette from the Ministry’s Directorate of Publications and Public Relations. The digital version is also available on the Ministry’s official website.
