The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation Affairs reported that 491 Afghan citizens were released this week from Pakistani military regime’s prisons and returned home.

Citing the provincial directorates of Refugees and Repatriation Affairs in Kandahar and Nangarhar, the ministry noted that 379 individuals returned through the Torkham crossing, while 112 others crossed back through Spin Boldak.

According to the ministry, the individuals had been held in various detention centers for lacking legal residency documents.

The ministry added that after registration and receiving assistance, the returnees were transferred to their respective areas of origin.
