The spokesperson for the 313 Central Corps, Rashid Jan, told Voice of Hindukush that, in coordination with other intelligence and security agencies, the corps has adopted strict security measures on the occasion of the arrival of the month of Muharram al-Haram and to ensure the safe conduct of religious ceremonies by the country’s Shia community.
He added that during the first ten days of the month, defense forces will carry out security duties in assigned areas through mobile patrols, checkpoints, security belts, and key strategic positions.
The spokesperson also stated that, to ensure public safety and further strengthen security, medical, firefighting, and technical teams, as well as relevant reserve units, have been placed on a state of readiness.
