Mullah Hamdullah Fetrat, Deputy Spokesperson for the interim government, announced that a special meeting was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund regarding the mistreatment and forced deportation of Afghan refugees.

According to Fetrat, the meeting strongly condemned the un-Islamic and inhumane treatment of Afghan refugees, as well as their forced deportation, describing these actions as violations of Islamic principles, international norms, and the rights of neighborly relations.

Fetrat stated that, alongside other cabinet members, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, and Minister for Refugees and Repatriation Mawlawi Abdul Kabir.

He added that the meeting also called on the people of Pakistan, political parties, religious scholars, and influential figures to fulfill their Islamic and neighborly responsibilities in this matter.

The gathering urged the United Nations and international organizations to fulfill their responsibilities in preventing this humanitarian crisis and ensuring the dignified return of Afghan refugees.

According to Fetrat, the High Commission for addressing refugee issues was tasked with utilizing all available resources to promptly provide returning Afghan citizens with necessary facilities, temporary shelters, and essential services.

It is worth noting that the Pakistani government has recently launched a new wave of forced deportations of Afghan refugees, a move that human rights organizations have described as unjust and have called to be halted.
