Anadolu Agency reported that more than 73,000 Palestinians have been martyred and over 174,000 others injured in Gaza since October 7, 2023. In the latest incident, Basir al-Barsh, son of Gaza Health Ministry Director-General Munir al-Barsh, was also martyred.
Citing a medical source, the agency reported that Basir al-Barsh was martyred in an Israeli strike in the Al-Zahra area, west of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Two other Palestinians were also martyred in separate areas of Gaza on the same day, while a Palestinian girl martyred from injuries sustained in earlier attacks.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, 1,386 Palestinians have been martyred and another 4,784 injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire was announced in October 2025.
Reports said Munir al-Barsh has repeatedly warned in recent months about the deteriorating state of Gaza’s healthcare system, shortages of medicines and medical equipment, and difficulties in providing healthcare services.
