According to Reuters, unidentified gunmen abducted 42 school students in Borno State in northeastern Nigeria.
Ali Ndume, a representative of the Borno South constituency, told Reuters that 32 of the students were taken from the school, while 10 others were abducted from nearby residential areas.
The report further states that attacks and abductions linked to Boko Haram and the Islamic State group have intensified once again countrywide, leaving civilians exposed to severe security threats.
