Al Arabiya reported that Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, criticized Western and U.S. policies on several issues in his speech on Saturday, September 26, at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
He described the detention of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as “illegal” and also announced Moscow’s readiness to participate in efforts to resolve the escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Lavrov said that Maduro is being held in the United States “without trial” and described his detention as illegal.
