The Afghanistan Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation’s Meteorological Department has issued a new weather advisory, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, flash floods, dust storms, and strong winds in several provinces across the country.

According to the department’s forecast, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and the possibility of flash floods are expected through July 22, 2026 (31 Saratan 1405) in the provinces of Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Paktia, Khost, Paktika, and Ghazni.

The department stated that rainfall is expected to range between 10 and 35 millimeters across different areas of these provinces.

The advisory further notes that central, eastern, southeastern, southern, and western provinces may also experience strong winds, dust storms, and sandstorms, with wind speeds expected to reach 50 to 100 kilometers per hour in some areas.
