Reuters news agency reported, citing Yemeni officials, that Houthi militants have launched a new wave of attacks on Saudi Arabia and have entrenched themselves in their positions in Yemen’s western coastal areas along the Red Sea.

According to the source, this comes as urgent consultations are underway in Riyadh on how to respond to the Houthis’ rapid advance.

Amid the ongoing deepening tensions between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, Arab Gulf states have also postponed planned talks with Iran, raising concerns about a further escalation of tensions in the Middle East and threats to global oil supplies.
