Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it launched attacks on targets hosting U.S. forces across the region in retaliation for U.S. airstrikes.
The IRGC stressed responsibility for controlling maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz rests with Iran under an existing agreement, and claimed the United States attempted to violate that arrangement but received an appropriate response.
The IRGC warned that if the United States carries out similar actions again, Iran’s response will be broader and more severe.
Earlier, the U.S. Central Command announced it had struck several targets inside Iran in response to an Iranian attack on a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
