Sputnik News Agency, citing a Western newspaper, reported that bombers from the United States and Israel carried out strikes for 40 consecutive days, targeting mountainous areas around Yazd with bunker-busting bombs. According to the report, Iranian missile launches resumed just a few hours after each attack.

Sources noted Iran operates dozens of underground bases countrywide, most of them built deep within mountainous terrain.

Available information suggest that some missile facilities are carved into granite rock formations and extend more than 70 meters underground through tunnel networks, a design intended to shield them from aerial bombardment.
