Iran’s National Security Council Chief Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr warned U.S. President Donald Trump that Tehran does not accept threats and will respond to any pressure.

Zolghadr said the United States should engage with Iran based on mutual respect, adding that a country with thousands of years of civilization cannot be intimidated by threats.

Addressing Trump, he said that if Washington continues its policy of threats, Tehran will take action that would lead the United States to face the consequences.

His remarks came after Trump recently warned Iran of possible military and economic pressure.
