Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it launched ballistic missiles at two U.S. air bases in Jordan, targeting the King Hussein and Al Azraq air bases.

The IRGC claimed the strikes caused heavy damage to technical and maintenance facilities, as well as areas used to station fighter jets.

Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported that the IRGC said the attacks were carried out as part of an operation called “Punishment of the Aggressor,” in response to U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran’s Larak Island.

The IRGC warned that any further attack on Iran would be met with an even stronger response. It also said efforts to weaken Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz would fail.
