According to the Israeli newspaper Maariv, a number of Israeli soldiers have warned that the ongoing war in Gaza, marked by relentless killings, indiscriminate bloodshed, and unclear strategy, has brought the Israeli military to the verge of collapse and disintegration.

Quoting soldiers deployed on the front lines in Gaza, the report highlights that the irrational continuation of the war has severely damaged morale, disrupted discipline, and exposed deepening cracks within the army’s structure.

The report also notes growing frustration among Israeli occupation forces, who accuse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet of using the military to advance its political and ideological goals, while tens of thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews (Haredim) remain exempt from mandatory service.

“Netanyahu’s cabinet sends us into Gaza,” the soldiers said, “while ultra-Orthodox communities are completely free of any responsibility.”

They warned that this double standard has placed overwhelming pressure on combat units, leaving them on the brink of collapse.

In a separate interview with the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, Dan Aron, an Israeli soldier deployed in Gaza, stated: “This exhausting war is breaking the army, and it will end in total collapse.”

He added that the ongoing exemption of ultra-Orthodox Jews from service has only increased the burden on ordinary soldiers.

In recent weeks, the Israeli occupation army has also seen a noticeable surge in desertions and suicides among its troops.
