North Korean state media reported that leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the testing of a new warship, named “Kang Kon,” and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the country’s military capabilities and nuclear deterrent.
According to the report, Kim said that building a powerful naval force capable of playing a decisive role in preventing nuclear war remains a key objective of North Korea’s defense development program.
He also called for the rapid operational deployment of the country’s newly developed warships and further strengthening of North Korea’s naval forces.
