Al Jazeera English has reported that Lebanon’s ambassador to Washington, Neda Hamadeh, and Israel’s ambassador, Yechiel Leiter, are scheduled to meet in person.
Sources say the meeting is planned for 11:00 AM local time, according to a schedule released by the U.S. Department of State, and both sides intend to begin direct talks regarding the current situation.
Israel’s recent deadly attacks on Lebanon have sparked widespread international reactions, with calls for dialogue between the two sides.
