In recent years, a number of failed and fleeing figures of the Republic have resorted to lobbying for certain regional powers and their former supporters by making baseless and false claims. They are trying to portray Afghanistan as a crisis-ridden, dangerous country and a threat to regional security by highlighting issues such as “China’s influence in Afghanistan,” “human rights violations,” and “the presence of irresponsible armed groups,” thereby creating the grounds for military and political intervention by foreign powers.

But the fundamental question is: Are these actions taken out of concern for the homeland or in pursuit of personal interests and the delusion of returning to power?

A brief look at the political record of these figures shows that their main concern is not the interests of the people but rather the preservation of their personal benefits and the restoration of their lost status. The experience of the “Bonn Conference” is one of the most prominent examples of these betrayals; a place where these same individuals, in pursuit of power, exposed Afghanistan to foreign bombardment without any consideration and, alongside foreign forces, made the chests of the children of this land the target of bullets.

The instrumental use of concepts such as “human rights” and “China’s influence” is more of a political option to achieve their nefarious goals than based on objective realities. The blatant contradiction between the claims and actions of these individuals is not hidden from anyone; on one hand, they talk about patriotism, freedom, and independence, while on the other hand, they have nestled in the arms of foreign powers and, by portraying the country’s situation in a negative light, are seeking to destabilize, weaken national independence, and tarnish Afghanistan’s image.

Considering these dark backgrounds and current actions, there is no doubt that the lobbying of these individuals is not out of patriotism, but out of a thirst for power; even at the cost of the country’s ruin and the trampling of national interests.

But these desperate attempts to distort the true face of Afghanistan will lead nowhere because today, it has become clear to the world that Afghanistan has achieved stability, security, and independence more than ever before. The only achievement of these propaganda campaigns is the further disgrace of the mercenary figures and the exposure of their deep selfishness and lust for power.
