The spokesperson for the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, Saif Khyber, says the ministry’s moral enforcers have detained a group led by Pir Ibrahim Gilani, who were engaged in un-Islamic practices, innovations (bid’ah), and superstitions under the guise of Sufism and religion.
Khyber added that the ministry is responsible for preventing all actions and behaviors in society that contradict Sharia and the legal framework of the ministry.
He emphasized that no one will be allowed to misuse the name of religion or Sufism to carry out practices that are not permitted by Sharia or the law.
