The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs has announced that the Ministry of Public Works currently has 74 highway and road projects under construction across the country.
According to the source, major projects include the second carriageway of the Kabul-Ghazni Highway, the Salang Highway, the Kunar-Nuristan Road, the Dasht-e-Archi–Kunduz Road, the Kandahar-Spin Boldak Road, the Maymana-Ferdows Road, the Kandahar-Helmand Road, the Ring Road in Badghis Province, and the Qosh Tepa-Darzab Road.
The statement from the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs adds that these projects have directly and indirectly created employment opportunities for more than 132,000 people, with 9,493 pieces of machinery currently engaged in the construction work.
