Mohsen Rezaei, a military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, said in an interview with CNN that a key component of any potential agreement between Tehran and Washington is the release of Iran’s $24 billion in frozen assets.

According to Rezaei, Iran wants $12 billion to be released immediately upon the signing of any possible agreement, with the remaining $12 billion to be released in subsequent stages.

He emphasized that the unfreezing of these assets is necessary to build confidence in U.S. commitments.

Rezaei also warned that if the current conflict escalates again, its consequences would not be limited to the Persian Gulf but could extend to the Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Indian Ocean region.

He further dismissed reports of a possible meeting between Donald Trump and Mojtaba Khamenei, stating that negotiations between the two countries are currently stalled.
