At a regular meeting of the Economic Commission chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the National Policy for the Development of the Agriculture and Livestock Sector was approved.

The Economic Deputy’s Office stated that the key objectives of this policy include mechanization of the agriculture and livestock sector, development of research and extension systems in the sector, management of irrigation systems, support for investment in agriculture, irrigation, and livestock, and ensuring public access to high-quality agricultural and animal products.

The source added that the plan for the development of the fish farming sector was also approved during the meeting. Under this plan, through investment, 7,700 small, medium, and large fish production and breeding farms will be established on 6,500 hectares of land.

According to the information, with the implementation of this plan, employment opportunities will be created directly for 50,000 and indirectly for 250,000 citizens.
