Pakistani media reported that the government has reduced fuel allocations for official vehicles and banned the purchase of new vehicles and foreign travel as part of efforts to cut fuel consumption and government spending.

The measures also include suspending official receptions and restricting the purchase of certain government supplies.

The decision comes as regional tensions have disrupted fuel and gas supplies, driving up prices.

The government has also introduced a fuel subsidy of 100 Pakistani rupees per liter for motorcycle, rickshaw and small car owners.
