Michael Kugelman, a prominent American journalist, described the recent London meetings between Pakistani and Israeli officials, along with Islamabad’s bid to expand ties with Israel as both unexpected and noteworthy.

Kugelman noted that although Pakistan’s public shows no interest in Israel, its leaders have consistently taken a more conciliatory approach.

He added that Pakistani officials have repeatedly engaged in covert and informal contacts with Israel.

Although Islamabad projects itself as a staunch supporter of Palestine, multiple episodes have exposed the extent of its covert ties with Israel.
