According to Al Jazeera, Qatar’s Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with Syria’s current leader, Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, and the head of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham movement.
During the meeting, Mr. Al Thani called on Israel to quickly withdraw its forces from Syrian territory, including the UN-established neutral zone.

The Qatari Prime Minister also attended a joint press conference with al-Jolani in Damascus; during the conference, he called Israel’s occupation of the buffer zone illegal and stressed the demand for Israel’s immediate withdrawal.

Meanwhile, the current Syrian leader, al-Jolani, welcomed the renewed diplomatic ties between Qatar and Syria after years of delay. He emphasized that the borders between Syria and Israel were established in 1974, Stating that no entity has the authority to violate Syrian territory.
