In a recent audio message, senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya called on the Islamic world—particularly the people, scholars, and officials of Egypt and Jordan—to fulfill their moral and religious responsibilities in the face of Gaza’s ongoing blockade, famine, and genocide.

Reacting to the Israeli airdrops of humanitarian aid in Gaza, he said: “Not airdrops, but open the crossings. We reject airdropped aid. It is nothing but a display meant to conceal Israeli crimes. The real and dignified solution is to open the crossings and allow aid to reach people in a humane manner.”

He further stated that the scholars of the Islamic Ummah should not remain silent, should lead their people, and guide them in standing up to the enemy.

Addressing the Jordanian government, he said: “O people of Jordan! You have always stood by the Palestinian cause. We ask you to increase your pressure, protests, and voices to stop the genocide in Gaza and prevent the division of Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Finally, he called on the people of Egypt, saying that their brothers in Gaza are dying of hunger, and stressed that Egypt must take a firm stance and open the Rafah crossing.
