Security forces in Nangarhar province have arrested seven individuals in Jalalabad city for possessing counterfeit Afghan currency.
According to the Nangarhar Governor’s Media Office, officers from the First Security District arrested the suspects while they were actively using forged banknotes—amounting to 78,000 Afghanis—to make purchases in local markets.
The statement added that the detainees have confessed to their involvement. Upon completion of preliminary investigations, they will be handed over to the relevant judicial and legal authorities for further action.
