Following an Israeli airstrike on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, strongly criticized the United States.
He stated that the attack demonstrated that the United States either lacks the will to implement its commitments or does not have the capability to do so.
Ghalibaf emphasized that Washington cannot gain concessions by giving the Israeli regime a green light.
Addressing the United States, the Iranian Parliament Speaker said that if it lacks either the will or the ability to fulfill its commitments, then any talk of continuing negotiations is meaningless.
Meanwhile, Barak Ravid, a reporter for Axios, quoted his sources as saying that the Israeli military’s strike on Beirut was carried out in coordination with CENTCOM.
On the other hand, U.S. President Donald Trump reacted to the attack by calling on Hezbollah, the Israeli regime, and Iran to exercise restraint.
